Halloween Night

It was nice that Halloween was on a Saturday this year - there was no frantic rush to get home from work, pick up the kids from school etc.  And they got to get a good night sleep after the sugar from the day before at school!

We had the Schaeffer and the Websters over to have a little party and then go Trick or Treating. Our street isn't the most happening, but on the other side of the block, they really do up the night.  We took the wagon, a cooler full of drinks, and made our way over to the neighborhood.

Samantha and Katie are ready for some fun adventures - the Princess and the Pirate

Kaiden was an astronaut and his Dad turned his wagon into a space ship!  The girls enjoyed riding in it,  I don't know if they even gave the poor astronaut a chance at all

Trick or Treating - I love when the parents handing out the candy dress up as well - Nicholas was a big help with Katie saying Trick or Treat, and thank you!

The Evil Jester Masks (they coudn't wear the masks the day before at school)

Halloween Parade at School

The kids got to dress up at school and have a parade.  They take their chairs onto the blacktop and make a big square and each class goes around to show their costumes.  They do this every year - it's a fun thing to watch.  A lot of the costumes are very clever and original.  It was exciting to have Katie be a part of it for the first time!
The teachers get in the act as well - they usually coordinate - this year they were a pumpkin patch, with the princpal having a great green wig on - the children really enjoy it.

Since Zachary is the Commissioner of School Spirit, he was the MC for the parade.  Here is is with his ostrich costume (whom he named Felipe - go figure!)

Here is Nicholas and Maggie

And Nicholas and Tommy - in matching costumes.  His mom and I did not coordinate these costumes, nor to my knowledge did the boys talk together.  They both have similar likes and chose the exact same costume (and their Mom's both know that shopping at Party City is the easy way to go at this age!)

Here is Katie in her first parade!

...sitting watching the parade with Hunter, Brendan and Riley

the 7th Grade class - I have enjoyed watching these kids grow up these past 6 years

The Pre-School Parade
After the all school parade, the Pre-School kids get to go Trick or Treating in all the classrooms - it's a riot to watch them go in and out of the classes, especially when one has an older sibling - they get a lot of laughs and hugs - not to mention candy and treats!

Mrs Vallas gave out great treats - pencils and suckers!

Katie had a great time

And after the parades were over, and the Princess Costume put away, it was time for the cupcakes, juice and treats.

I think she is enjoying it!!

CHOC Walk

Every year La Purisima School has a team that joins thousands of people for a 3 mile walk through Disneyland and California Adventure to support CHOC Hospital.  We have gone the last few, and are making this a tradition.  This is the second walk for a cause my boys have done this year.  I am incredibly proud of them.  This requires them to get up at o'dawn early and go walk 3+ miles, usually after waiting a long while for the event to start.  But they are troopers and really understand the significance of what they are walking for.  As in the Revlon walk, my Aunt Irene joins us for this event as well.  This is fun because it is through Disneyland, and it's with a lot of their friends from school, so they have a great time.

The team asks us to wear our Cavalier spirit clothes -so Zachary is wearing his home football jersey and I am wearing his away jersey - fits perfect!  And yes, it is pretty dark at the start of the walk. Disney needs us to get through the walk and out of the park so they can open for all the paying guests!

Notice the banner on the team behind us - Zach's Team - had to get a photo of that!

Nicholas and his buddies are proudly carrying the banner

Fiona, Maggie and Nicholas.  The second grade class had the most walkers of any grade at the school

The whole gang

After the walk - we are proud of the efforts made and the money raised for a great cause today

The Pumpkin Patch

Irvine Regional Park has a great Pumpkin Patch - there is a hay ride, a maze, bouncy houses, and lots of pumpkins all over to really give you that farm fall feeling.  We ran into some friends from school - Hunter in Pre-K, and his big brother Andrew.  Andrew is in 1st grade, and is Zachary's buddy at school (the older kids are paired up with the younger ones and sit with them at mass to help the teachers out)

This one is just too cute

Silly silly

Taking a hay ride on a tractor - fun for us city folks

The kids act very crazy when asked to!

Cancun

Every year NSG takes the top Interns on a fun (and little crazy) trip to Cancun.  For Johnny and I it is also a chance to get away and just get to relax and party a bit - sans children!

I get to hang out with all the great people I work with, and party like a rock star for a few days (before I come home and collapse!)

At Club Bull Dog with Jason and Spencer. They had this freezer room where you could have a tequila shot in a little glass made from ice.  It was refreshing for a moment after workin' up a sweat dancing, but then bbrr...

At the Welcome Night party with my hubby

The Awards Banquet is the highlight of the trip - all the hard work everyone has done all year is celebrated by the whole company.  Here is Kevin and Chad

And Ron and Nancy

Ready to go take over Coco Bongo with Taylor and Lauren!  That place is legendary.  We were there until (YIKES) 5am!!

And finally, ready to head out, but not before one last photo on front of the beach - such a beautiful place
